WEEK 1/ SEMANA 1

The last couple of days have been amazing! In class we have been seeing so many great topics like: “God is who He is, and He is who you believe Him to be”, “God can only do as much as you allow Him to do”, “God doesn’t ask the qualified to go, but He qualifies those who do go”, and “hearing the voice of God”. Such a week! Our speaker, Astrid Withrow, is an amazing women and individual. She Works in Burundi and is starting a village where the widows from the war are going to live in homes provided with 5-6 orfan children, and the local church is going to take them to tradicional evens (weddings, baptizims, ect.). The community will work together to restore the left over hurts from the war. PLEASE PRAY FOR BURUNDI!!! We have two burundese men in our DTS and they know the problems the country is faceing. The war ended 3 years ago, but there is still a lot of anamosity between groups and there are a lot of gorilla fighters and there is speakings of another war breaking out. So please pray that God have mercy on these people that have already suffered so much and that no war will break out. On saturday I went into town to get my passport foto taken in order to renew my visa, I got to come back on the base on a moto taxi, that was horrific because i’m petrefied of motorcycles unless i’m the one driving. I got here ok though haha. On Sunday Miguel and Yannick (memeber of our DTS) invited me and group of others to visit their church and be a part of their ministry for the day. By that they meant attend 3 church services in one day!!! Jaja. Its great thought their minestry is called “the blessing” and what they do is that they use the love for dancing they once used to sin, and now use it to glorify the Lord and reach out to the youth community. I got to see a lot of children and loved it, they all ran up to you and touched your skin and said “muzungu” which means “white skinned person”. It was so cute and they all wanted their picture taken and to see it afterwards! I had so much fun. In the next couple of days in class we will be practicing hearing God’s voice to know our purpose. So I’ll keep you updated on what that purpose may be. As of right now I also need prayers that God may continue to provide financial because I still have to finísh paying my DTS and also for my visa renewing. Estos ulimos dias han sido maravillosos!!! En clases hemos estado viendo buenos puntos como “Dios es quien es El y tambien El es quien tu lo crees ser”, “Dios solo puede hacer lo que usted lo deja hacer”, “Dios no manda a los que esta calificados, pero califica a los que manda” y “Escuchando la voz de Dios”. Que semanda!!! Nuestra Maestra para esta semana, Astrid Withrow, es una mujer increíble. Ella trabaja en Burundi y esta empezando un pueblo donde la viudas de la guerra le hacen casa y le dan 5-6 ninos para que cuiden, y la iglesia local lleva a los ninos a eventos tradicionales como bodas y bautismos. La comunidad trabaja juntos para restaurar el dolor que sobro de las guerras. PORVAFOR OREN POR BURUNDI!!! Tenemos a dos muchachos de Burundi en nuestra EDE y ellos saben los problemas que su paise esta frentando. La guerra termino hace 3 anos pero aun hay muchos malos sentimientos entre grupos y estan hablando de otra guerra. Ya el pais esta cansado de guerras y la gente y no quiere mas dolor. El Sabado fui a la cuidad para sacar una foto tamano pasaporte para renovar mi visa, regrese a la base en un taxi moto y fue horrible porque le tengo miedo a las motos almenos que sea yo la que esta manejando pero llegue bien jaja. El Domingo Miguel y Yannick (miembros de la EDE) me invitaron a mi y otros del gurpo a visitar su iglesia y ser parte de su ministerio por el dia. Fue attender 3 iglesias en un dia!!! Jaja. Fue lindo, el ministerio de ellos se llama “la bendicion”, lo que hacen es que usan el amor para el baile que antes usaban para pecar y ahora lo usan para glorificar a Dios y tocar a la comunidad de jóvenes. Vi muchos ninos y me encanto, todos corrian hacia uno y le tocaban la piel y decian “muzungo” que significa “persona con piel blanca” Jaja. Todos querian que le tomaramos fotos y después todos querian ver sus fotos jaja. En los proximos dias en clases vamos a estar practicando escuchar mejor la voz de Dios y reconocer cual es nuestro proposito. Asi que intentare mantenerlos al dia en cual es mi proposito. En este momento necesito tus oraciones para que Dios continue bendiciendome financialmente porque todavía tengo que terminar pagando la EDE y para la renovación de mi visa al pais.
